Thank you for your interest in St Peter's Anglican Church of Uganda,Boston!
We are a Uganda Anglican community based in Boston, USA, who take pride in our being a part of the world-wide Anglican Communion, and roots in the Anglican Church of Uganda which was founded in Uganda in the 1870’s. We adopted the title Anglican Church of Uganda as a way to identify with our Christian tradition articulated in the Uganda Anglican way.
St. Peter’s began on the 25 of December, 2006 after a group of Ugandans in Boston led by Mr. Israel Iga approached the Rev. Dr. Alex Kasirye-Musoke and asked him to lead them in this ministry. The first service was led by the Rev. Alex Kasirye- Musoke and the Rev. Christine Nakyeyune Busuulwa. In 2007, the Rev. Mary Tusuubira joined them to make the team of three priests. This has enriched the church because each of the three priests has particular gifts, theological bias and style of ministry.
St. Peter’s Faith
St. Peter’s is a theocentric (God-centered) church believing in God the Creator, Jesus the only begotten Son of God and the Holy Spirit as the teacher and director of our faith. Thus our faith does not, in any way, differ from that of the world-wide Anglican Communion and the Anglican Church of Uganda. It worships in Luganda, the most widely-spoken language in Uganda and maintains the Anglican Church of Uganda tradition from which it draws most of its liturgy and form of worship. It uses the Anglican Church of Uganda prayer book, based on the 1662 Anglican Book of Common Prayer.
We invite you to become a member of our congregation - allowing God into your life through our various programs and community outreach efforts.
